49ers Release DL Givens, Sample

The San Francisco 49ers have released veteran defensive linemen Kevin Givens and Cameron Sample as part of roster adjustments following the signings of KhaDarel Hodge and Ogbo Okoronkwo.

Givens, 29, joined the 49ers in 2019 as an undrafted free agent and appeared in 70 career games with the team, recording 8.0 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, and 18 quarterback hits. Sample, who joined the 49ers in April 2025 after five seasons with the Bengals, tallied 17 total tackles with 2.0 sacks in 14 games last season. truewildgame.online

The roster moves come ahead of the 49ers' first preseason game next Thursday against Tennessee in Santa Clara.
