Cowboys backup QB race tight as preseason nears end

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer stated that Sam Howell and Joe Milton are in a close battle for the backup quarterback position. Howell started the first preseason game while Milton played the second half, and they switched roles against the Cardinals. Schottenheimer praised both players, noting Milton has 'performed beautifully' and Howell has 'made a lot of plays too.'
