Houston Astros owner Jim Crane stated the team's playoff berth will be a factor in deciding manager Joe Espada's future, whose contract expires after this season.

Crane mentioned there have been no recent discussions about a new deal for Espada. "All positives are positives, all negatives are negatives," he told The Associated Press. "I think that would be something to consider when we make the decision." extract-html.com

The Astros made history as the first MLB team to reach the playoffs with an 81-81 record, hosting the Chicago White Sox in a best-of-three Wild Card Series starting Tuesday.
