Ahead of the AL Wild Card Series, the Chicago White Sox received an encouraging letter from Pope Leo XIV, a Chicago native and fan.

The letter, addressed to chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and dated Sept. 9, thanks Reinsdorf for a previous note and references the Pope's belief that sport is a "school of life." The pontiff hopes the team fosters friendship and solidarity. blablasex.es

The gesture comes as the White Sox face the Houston Astros in Game 1 on Tuesday. Chicago clinched its first playoff appearance since 2021, while the Cubs also secured a spot, marking the first time both teams reached the postseason together since 1906.
